On Thursday 22nd March 2018 (7.45pm) our guest speaker will be former Surrey and Glamorgan batsman Alan Butcher.

Alan has over 40 years’ experience in cricket as a player and coach with Surrey, Glamorgan, Essex & Zimbabwe; he also gained one ODI cap and one England Test cap – a story on it’s own and one we look forward to hearing.

Both of Alan’s sons, Mark and Gary, played county cricket with Mark also representing England in 71 Tests.

Alan’s experiences as head coach of Zimbabwe are quite eye opening and are chronicled in his book The Good Murungu (Pitch Publishing) which was short listed for both the Cricket Society/MCC Book of the Year & Cross Pens cricket book of the year 2017.
