Thursday 25 October 2018 – Devon Malcolm

On Thursday 25 October (7.45pm) our guest speaker will be former England, Derbyshire, Northamptonshire and Leicestershire fast bowler Devon Malcolm.

Please note that the venue for this event is Horsford Cricket Club (NR10 3AQ).

Devon Malcolm

Devon Malcolm played 40 Test matches for England taking 128 wickets with his raw pace. His most famous spell of bowling was in August 1994 against South Africa at The Oval. Malcolm was incensed after being hit on the helmet by a bouncer from Fanie de Villiers whilst batting during England’s first innings and legend has it he turned to the South African fielders and uttered the immortal line “You guys are history!” As good as his word, Malcolm ripped through the South African second innings to finish with figures of 9–57, which at the time was the sixth-best innings analysis in the history of Test cricket.

We are pleased to be putting on the event in association with Horsford Cricket Club and Black History Month Norfolk and as a nod to Devon Malcolm’s Jamaican heritage we’ll be adding some spice to the evening with a Caribbean buffet which will be available from 7.00pm.

Entry is £5 for non-members and includes the buffet. Booking is advisable, please use our Contact page if you’d like to book a place.
