On Thursday 26th October 2017 (7.45pm) our guest speaker will be former England cricketer Chris Lewis.

Chris played in 32 Test matches and 53 One-Day Internationals and at one stage – like a number of young England cricketers in the 1990s – was heralded as the successor to Ian Botham’s crown. Following early retirement at the age of just 30, Chris withdrew from the limelight until, in 2008, he was arrested for importing cocaine from the Caribbean and sentenced to thirteen years in prison. He was released in 2015 after serving six years of his sentence.
From his arrival in England from Guyana with his parents in the 1970s, through his cricketing career – with England, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Surrey – to his arrest, subsequent trial and time in prison Chris will discuss how he’s putting his life back together.
Hope you can join us to hear Chris’s redemptive story. A Q&A session will follow the talk and Chris will also be signing copies of his book Crazy: My Road to Redemption on the night.
