September 2014 – Trevor Ward

Former Kent, Leics and Norfolk batsman

Trevor received a really warm welcome from the audience, which included past and current Norfolk CCC players, on his first return to Norfolk since retiring at the end of the 2013 season.  We heard about his early playing days with Kent CCC, facing West Indies pacemen Malcolm Marshall and Patrick Patterson and his move to Leicestershire CCC.  Trevor became a Norfolk CCC player by chance rather than design but went on to serve the county with distinction for ten years.

The affection shown by the audience on the evening was a touching reflection of the esteem in which Trevor is held in these parts for the dedication and professionalism shown by him during his Norfolk CCC playing career.
